Danish Government Masters Scholarships For Foreign Students 2022–2023

 A small number of grants and tuition exemptions are available through the Danish Government Scholarship program at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH). Highly gifted students from non-EU/EEU countries with great academic records are eligible for the competitive scholarships, which are offered. The scholarship will be automatically considered for all non-EU/EEA applicants who are admitted.

The Danish Government Scholarship is awarded as either a complete or partial waiver of tuition fees or as a sum sufficient to cover the cost of basic living.

Financial need is not taken into account when the University grants scholarships; they are given exclusively on the basis of academic success. Please see the information at the bottom of this page for faculty specific selection criteria, processes, etc.


About Danish Government Scholarship

The Danish Government Scholarship is awarded as either a complete or partial waiver of tuition fees or as a sum sufficient to cover the cost of basic living. Qualifications for the Danish Government Master's Scholarship

One of the requirements to qualify for a scholarship is that they:

  • A national of a nation not included in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or Switzerland.
  • Admitted to the University of Copenhagen's master's program.
  • A temporary residency visa is issued for the purpose of enrolling in a higher education program in Denmark.

A Danish Government Scholarship is not available to you if you:

  • Own a legal claim to Danish citizens' rights.
  • Are qualified for a grant under the State Educational Grant and Loan Scheme as defined by Danish legislation (SU).
  • Possess a residence permit that was issued to them at the time of entrance under subsection 1 of section 9c of the Danish Aliens Consolidations Act.

Date, Procedure, and Location of Interview for Danish Government Masters Scholarship

Through the email address provided on their admissions application, UCPH will get in touch with people who are nominated. The scholarship must be accepted or rejected by the nominees.

If you are given a scholarship offer but do not accept it by the time listed in the email, the scholarship offer will be withdrawn and given to another candidate. As a result, it's crucial that you make sure to regularly check your email. As emails may be routed from your inbox to the spam folder, the University advises checking there as well as any other email filters.

If eligible, the Danish Government Scholarship will be automatically evaluated for all non-EU/EEA applicants to the University of Copenhagen's MA and MSc degree programs. Thus, applying is not required.
