Goals and Advantages of the NPA World Maritime Day Essay Contest

  • The winning essay will be published in the NPA Today and on the NPA website, along with an education grant of N500,000, a laptop, and other prizes.
  • N300,000 Education Grant, a laptop, and a plaque for second place.
  • Third Place: N200,000 together with a laptop and a plague.
  • 7 N100,000 consolation prizes are also included.

Qualifications for the NPA World Maritime Day Essay Competition

The rules for the competition are as follows:
  • Senior secondary school students may enter the essay contest.
  • Participants must show verification of their student status with their submissions as a matter of necessity.
  • Essays should only be written in English.
  • 500 words maximum with a minimum of 250 words.
  • Essays must be typed in Microsoft Word 12 point font.
  • An essay must have a cover page containing the name of the institution, the student's class, their age, and their contact information (gsm and email).
  • To strengthen the essay, feel free to use illustrations or quotes from additional sources.
